NewsThe Kooks wrap up US tour with sold-out showsThe Kooks will wrap up their US tour tonight with a show at Boston's Paradise Rock Club. The band performed the second of two sold out shows at New York's Fillmore on Friday (May 11) in front of Brit-packed audience. Hotly-tipped openers Illinois amply warmed-up the crowd, performing a string of tracks from their debut EP 'What The Hell Do I Know?' including 'Headphones' and 'Bad Day' before making way for the headliners. Taking to the stage at around 10pm, The Kooks opened with mini-track 'Seaside' and tore through hit after hit from 'Inside In/Inside Out' such as 'She Moves In Her Own Way' and 'See The World'. Watched by an audience that included We Are Scientists bassist Chris Cain and Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, the band wrapped up their set with 'Sofa Song'. They played: 'Seaside' 'See The World' 'Eddie's Gun' 'Matchbox' 'Ooh La' 'Come On Down' 'Time Awaits' 'She Moves In Her Own Way' 'Oil' 'Sway' 'Sabateur' 'Na?ve' 'Always Where I Need To Be' 'You Don't Love Me' 'Disappear' 'Make Love' 'Sofa Song' Arcade Fire frontman 'recovering nicely' Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler said he is "recovering nicely" from his recent illness, which caused his band to cancel several European shows. In a note posted on Arcade Fire's website, Butler revealed that his surgery was a success and he's on the road to recovery. Butler wrote: "Just wanted to let you all know that the surgery was successful, and I am recovering nicely. Thank you for all of your thoughts and emails. "I will probably start singing again this week some time to try and get ready for the shows in North America," he continued. "It has been a blessing in disguise to be forced to stay home and read, and sleep (pick up Cormac MCarthy's 'The Road' if you are feeling like a little post apocalypse...don't let the Oprah Book Club sticker scare you away). Regine (Chassagne) and I have even started working on some new songs." As previously reported, Arcade Fire are set to kick off their North American tour in San Diego, California next week in support of their latest album, 'Neon Bible'. |
